Default Location of fob receiver in 2006 tahoe

New to forum. Hope this posting is done correctly.
Have a 2006 Tahoe that no longer responds to key fob for door lock/unlock unless very close to front end of vehicle. It will only respond if fob is within about 4 feet.
Following actions have not made any improvement:
1 Changed battery and cleaned fob contacts, and
2 purchased new FOB and programmed to vehicle.

So, I'm thinking it must be the receiver or antenna connections. But I have no idea where in the vehicle the receiver and antennas are and how to access them.
Would appreciate any help - wife is (and I am) getting quite frustrated.

Thanks, in advance.

Still hoping someone on this forum can provide some insights on this:
2006 Tahoe - FOB receiver location / antennas (antennae).

Thanks, MIke D.
