Lowered 07's
I recently lowered mine and at times when I'm turning I see the traction control light come on and if Im turning while applying breaks, I feel the anti-lock breaks working. It only happens sometimes when I'm turning and seems there is a change in the suspension. I was thinking that it was the stiffer ride making the ABS sensors give bad info to the computer. Does this happen to anybody else? Thanks..
I just ordered and received my McGaughys kit for my 07 without autoride. It worries me a bit that you guy are having this issue. I have heard about this on the self leveling. However, P_RS yours isnt autoride, correct?
Would you all give them McGaughy's a call and see what they say? I would like to know before I install the kit! I dont want to do the install and have issues that may cause my Tahoe to be unsafe! Sounds scary that this is happening around corners and turns.
Eddie, please call them and let me know what they tell you if you dont mind! Thanks.

Ok, So I just decided I would ask them about this issue. So I call and get the first guy. Tell him what you guys describe. He says, "oh well that is supposed to happen. That means your ABS and traction control is working.” So after a few more questions he passes me on to the next gentleman.
The second guy at first acts like this is a GM problem and take it to GM. He then says their Denali they had there had/has this problem but it is now fixed. I asked what the fix was and he said he would go get the error code. He returned and said I couldn't find the code but I called the Dealership and they said the problem is this: "That when you do the install you have to loosen some clip around/above the fender to allow some slack for a wire when you drop the rear. If you don't loosen this it will cause these "very” small wires to break!”
So we basically ended the conversation with if you don't break those wires, you won't have ANY issues. So did all of you guys break these wires he is talking about? I have no idea on the wires as I haven't messed with any of this yet.
I also mentioned there were a lot of people on this forum, in a lot of other threads that have mentioned this problem after the lowering kit was installed. They said that is hard to believe that many people are having an issue. They wouldn't be selling their kits if there was an issue, and on and on! He was a very nice guy, however I really think this is going to continue to be a problem, and it is hard for me to believe it is from people installing the kit and breaking these ABS/traction control wires?
Well I don't have mine installed, I haven't done the install, so I couldn't be real specific. But I am very nervous about putting this kit on and having any issues with the ABS or traction control. Any light on the dash is TOOO many!
This is obviously a summary of the conversation and I am sure I am leaving out some information. However, I can tell you this is damn close to whatwas said! Let me know what you guys find out!

FWIW: I've had no such issue with my 4/5 drop. No autoride here, either.
Perhaps ZX could give us a quick description of what information is used to determine when TC and ABS intervention is necessary? I'd like to understand why swapping these few hard suspension parts is causing some people such grief. Hopefully, he will have some thoughts on what is going on here.
biglg: Didn't you just decide NOT to lower yours a few weeks ago?

I had decided against the Eibach spring only kit. I couldnt find out for sure what the measurements on the kit were. Some said, 1.8/2.4, some said 2/3, some said 2/2. So I wasnt sure and i didnt want the 2/2. Plus, with just the spings it would have lost the ride quality.
I have since returned the Eibach and purchased the mcgaugys 2/3 kit. It arrived yesterday and is sitting in my garage. I am now a bit skeptical about putting it on.

I think I told P_RsTahoe, I have not had any of these problems with mine.
I am getting ready to install the same kit on a friends Denali (autoride). I just ordered the kit 10minutes ago. I am concerned, I dont want this to happen to a friends car after I tell him, yes I am theman I know what I am doing ect.. I will feel like a fool if something goes wrong.
If anyone finds anything else out please post it.

Hey guys, It doesnt bother me. I dont think its an unsafe condition. When that light comes on it means its working at that time. And when Im pressing the breaks and it happens I feel the anti-lock breaks working. It doesnt happen all the time. Im not worried about it. I was just curious if it happened to anybody else.
Landon, I would still put the kit on if I were you. Its almost like driving with the tire sensor light when you put rims. I learned to live with it. I do not have the autoride by the way. Im not sure what wire in the rear you were told. There is the clip in the front abs/stabilitrack sensor that you have to loosen but I dont remember anything in the rear. I did make a mistake and had the left rear break cable routed behind the shock and it was making it super tight. I just fixed it and routed it in front of the shock. I doubt that was causing it though. Thanks.

Does anybody know if the rear fender is lower than the front fender? I messured again and my rear fender is about 1/4 inch lower. So I call Mcghaghys and they say that the rear fender is about 1/4 inch lower because its squared and the front fender is more rounded. They look exactly the same to me. Anybody know if thats true or they are feeding me a whole lot of BU** SH***. Thanks..
