Default My Tale of 'Not-a-Tahoe'

So, a few weeks ago some zit faced 17 year old punk in a Lexus rear-ends me....

Today, I drop the Tahoe off at the body shop, and I get a loaner, provided by his insurance company. a Mazda something or other.

Never in my life have I missed my tahoe so much.

To go from a $55k Luxury SUV to this thing is an insult.

1. it fidgits all over the freaking place. I can feel it when I run over a FLY.
2. power windows get 'stuck' up/down
3. side view mirrors are only 1/4 the size I need
4. I feel like I'm going to die on the highway
5. car has no *****. have to rev to 6k to do anything
6. brakes SUCK. my Tahoe stops faster
7. radio SUCKS. FM has nothing but constant static interrupted by idiotic DJs who throw in asinine commercials. (I have lifetime XM)
8. No backup camera, almost hit something
9. no backup beeper
10. no GPS... I almost missed my exit. I haven't had to pay attention to that stuff in the 46,000 miles since getting my tahoe
11. bluetooth - didn't bother to hook up
12. no auto HVAC. I get out of the car in the morning, then in at lunch sweating my *** off. crank the A/C, then have to rub the ***** like I'm trying to get the car in the mood just to get the temp right! (Never again will I own anything without auto HVAC
13. no sunroof... felt so cramped
14. if the car were any lower my butt would be scraping the ground
15. hit my head on the roof because it's a good 4 feet lower than MY truck

I HATE CARS. Unless it says Lamborghini on the back, I HATE IT.

haha funny read - helped wake me up after lunch! The Tahoe is like a comfy living room seat on the highway
how bad did you get hit? I assume just need some body work since the hitch probably stopped major damage?

I hate to love it.

again; it always come back to the one thing I think we all agree on.

The Tahoe was an amazing design, ruined by some bean counters.

The design is right on, but the fit/finish/material quality is just a joke... for this price I expected perfection...

But, at least it's nicer than a Mazda 3.

It's a hard life, what can I say?

Hitch was not on, because the LTZ comes with a nice cover, before this truck; I always drove with one on.

basically ruined the cover, and some scratches to rear bumper... $750ish + rental car for 2-3days.

we got rear ended by a 16 year old girl (1st month of driving...) earlier this year but she was only going about 15 mph and we were stopped. her hood and front bumper were jacked big time, only a few small scratches on our bumper since she went straight onto the hitch area (no hitch on though).

Default yea

I don't care if some new car used no gas at all. I'll stick with my 6,000 lb tank! at least I'll survive the accident.

Well, now I get the truck back; and the body shop used clips and screws to attach the hitch cover. so.. how can I easily remove that to use my hitch... most of the reason I own a truck.

Also the step pad needs replaced, it's loose and fidgets all over the bumper.

one would think that the clips would come with the cover... morons.

is the step pad and chrome strip one piece on the 09 or 2? if it's two, they need both. they can't reuse it, it won't hold right.
