Default Navigation Issues!!!!!

I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe LT3 with Navigation and rear entertainment. The problem I am having with the nav is the map view while on my way to a destination. It only shows the map on have the screen. The other side shows the exits on the free way and what points of interest there are at them. I would really just rather have the map on the full screen. I have tried everything. I turned the points of interest off and it still shows them all the time. Someone please help!!!!

My nav system is already in full screen mode. It happens particularly when I am on my way to a location with exits. On the right side of the screen it list the exit numbers and the different points of interest that are there. Is there anyway to turn this off and just have the map full screen. It is really annoying to only have a half map on the screen. Any help would be useful even if the news is there is no way to stop this from happening.

Are you getting any prompts to make turns like it is in guidance mode?

That is normal operation and can not be changed. If you have programed a destination and are on a interstate it will always give you the split screen with exit info. I do not like this feature as well. If you touch the screen it will lock that current view in full screen but once you drive off that view you have to return to the split screen. If their is a fix I would love to know as well.

Yea that is what I feared. It seems silly that they don't give you more view options. Also whats the point of having that nice screen and only using half for a map. Seems weird!!

Where do you suppose they should display the directions keeping in mind that many Tahoe owners are getting up there in age and their eyes aren’t what they use to be?

If you are trying to get to a destination in guidance mode then I think the driving directions are a paramount concern.

I agree but typically GPS device will tell you turn directions like 2 miles before the turn. They don't stay split screen the entire time. Also directions are not what the main problem is. They put each exit on the freeway on the split screen and show the points of interest avalible there. Those are not turn directions.
