New 2023 Tahoe RST. Question on AFM or Dymanic
Hello,
I currently own a 2008 Chevy Impala SS. I am looking into ordering a new Tahoe RST. I have a few questions if anyone can help!
My impala has a 5.3L V8 and it has the excessive oil consumption issue as it has the active fuel management system. I have read that this has been an ongoing issue and that GM is aware but says its normal to have like 1qt oil loss every 2k miles... I can say that this is true for my impala except before we realized it many years ago, it would run on low oil..... not a good thing,
Now, I love the Tahoe RST however, the 6.2L V8 has the dynamic fuel management system so i am sure that it works the exact same way and will use excess oil (i would hate to have to check it constantly and add before my oil changes).
We thought about the Diesel Duramax but would have the same issue plus the DEF.
My question, does anyone experience this issue with the new 2023 Tahoe in either the 6.2 or the Duramax?

I have owned a 2015 5,3 with AFM and a 2021 5.3 with DFM, neither one has used oil. The 6.2 is the same engine with larger pistons. Use the GM recommend oil and don't go over 5000 miles between changes.
