New member need help ASAP
hi there fellow chevy enthusiasts. I am a new member seeking to find an answer to my recent problem with this tahoe 4 door i purchased. The problem is, whenever i drive on the freeway and going 70 plus and hit a bump ( which there are many), my stereo turns off and my lights also seem to cut off for a brief while until the road isnt as bumpy and i slow down. Apart from that, while in the process of the lights turning off, my abs lights stay on for a brief period and the CEL flashes rapidly for a brief moment until the truck seems to stabilize.....any ideas what the issue might be ?? T.I.A.
Sounds like bad/corroded connections on your Grounds.
Can't really tell you just where all of them are, but if you look around under the hood and Dash, find them, take them off and sand/wire brush or replace the connectors if necessary and reattach. If you see a place where you can run an extra ground wire, DO IT ! Get this done, and let's see if the ABS and other issue clears up. Start at the Battery Ground and go from there.

thanks for the quick reply i appreciate it
.. i will definetly try you recommendations and see if the problem persists. However, i also forgot to add that it has also cut off on me and the steering wheel remained locked until i got it to fire up again. Could the problems possibly correlated? T.I.A. greatly aprecciate your replies.

A Steering Wheel reluctant to unlock, usually requires some spray lube into the key slot.
Probably not related.
yes, the engine completely shut off which at first made me think about a fuel pump issue. However, driving today i notice that my battery gauge jumps up and down/fiddles from the 14 volt area to the 12 ish range when accessories are being used or even when my blinkers are on. If driving with no accessories on the battery gauge seems to stay at 14 volts. Possible alternator issue ?
I think you're having a Ground Continuity problem. That happens a LOT around here. Start at the Battery Ground, clean/wire brush/replace connectors if necessary/tighten, find and do the same to several other grounds which can relate to a problem like you're having.
