ya the Z82 is probably the standard tow package that nearly every Tahoe/Suburban has.
you will be fine w/o any other upgrades towing with the Suburban. The Acadia is not in the same league as the Suburban towing that trailer you have.
are you sure it is only rated at 5400 towing? I thought stock was closer to 7000 lbs? I really doubt a simple $100 transmission cooler will raise it 2500 lbs...to confirm if you need it just tow how you have it all now and watch your tranmission temps. if they get 220+ then you probably should add the cooler.

adding a tranny cooler is fairly easy, just unhook the hose or cut the line add it in, then add more hose to get back to the source, and a 1/4 wt of tranny fluid...
obviously there's a bit more, but that's the idea.

Drove the suburban today without trailer 180 temp, same route hooked up to the trailer, some stop and go and highway around 60mph, oil temp stayed around 210. So since this was flat land I found a oem (hopefully), trans cooler and lines for $200.00 including shipping. Chevy wanted over $700.00 for a $230.00 option. GMC dealer wanted $300 for just the cooler, didnt know it needed extra lines. Local trans shop will put it on for less than $100.00 when it comes in. Will let you know if temp drops to be worth the 300.00. Oh yeah, had to buy a drop hitch for another $200.00 because the suburban sets so much higher than the Acadia. And so the story goes on and on.....Promised wife I wouldnt spend another dime on setup.

I believe the consensus is that the transmission temp should not maintain a temp above 210f for extended periods of time....
Here in central Texas on 100+ degree days I was seeing 190 on my non-cooler trans temp, now that I have added the factory cooler I am seeing temps about 10-15 degrees lower for the tranny in a non towing situation...
pulling a 1900lb pop up going to Yellowstone last year pre-cooler, I was getting up to 230F.... you can't go wrong adding the cooler as long as you are not going to be in any arctic areas.....

Chevy ought to have their a** kicked for calling Z82 heavy duty towing package. My RPO codes also show one for "special trailering provisions", cant rember the code and dont want to go through them all again, it simply means theres 7 pin wiring. BTW I found the cooler on GMPartsShop.com. GM direct also had it but they would not say when it would ship other than 7-10 days. And no express shipping, plus their shipping charges are inflated to make up for their low prices. Their faq say that.

Guess I am not following why the Suburban would be 2000 less? I know it varies depending on the rear axle ratio and a few other things but still. try to sneak in a weight distribution hitch to help keep things hooked up better.
but you will love the extra room for sure
