Default Newbie..to THIS forum! Just picked up a 2000 Burb. A couple Q's

Been on LOTS of different forums with MANY vehicles over the years from Toyota trucks, GTO's (68), Dodge and Ford trucks, and others.
We just purchased a 2000 Suburban 4X4 thats got pretty much everything on it. It's in pretty decent shape for a 10 year old vehicle with 156K miles. Body is solid with NO RUST, just a few little dings/scratches but paint still shines up well, Newer 10K mile motor installed at 145K, tranny overhauled, solid drivetain, REAL nice sound/DVD (front and rear) system. I think we did pretty well, paid $5000 CASH fr it!!
So here's the questions:
-DRL's NOT working, bulbs good, fuse good, It's got an Astro Autostart on it so not sure if they were disabled then. Where and what can I check? Is there a trick like on the older Chevy's to disable them?
-Tow/Haul button on gear selector not working. No light on dash, tranny does NOTHING when it's pushed???? Tranny seems to shift / downshift OK by itself and manually.
-1/2 of the nstrument cluster lights, by the tach OUT. I have been told that the ENTIRE cluster must be changed, anywhere from $300-500???
-As I live in Alaska I'll need to install a block heater, for some reason it DOES NOT have one. Which freeze plug does it go in and is it accessable to a shadetee mechanic?
-FINALLY the stock running boards were removed and the L shaped brackets are still attached, I have to find the right size hex bit to remove them but the ones on the passenger side are tucked up behind the tubing running along the bottom of the body, how are they accessed??

Thats it FOR NOW!! I'm sure as I get to know her better I'll have more questions. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

One more thing, it appears to have the autoride system on it. Whats the best way to tell if it's still working? All the lines seem to be intact and no major leakage but not sure if the compressor is functioning.

I'm sure of that as summer is in full force even here in Alaska. But after 100 views of this message and 66 views of my message in the "new member WELCOME area" and nary a response in either, I'll probably be looking elsewhere.
I wasn't expecting a ton of replies or a welcome to the boards party or anything like that, but this has been THE COLDEST reception to a new board I've EVER had. Ah well I tried....................sorry.

the burb looks nice. sorry you felt like you got a cold reception. I try and help out when I can, but I really dont have much to help ya. I can say that the autoride you should hear the compressor kick in if there is some weight in the back and i think if you jack up the rear end and let it dangle it should kick in also. it does sound like you might have a bad cluster. if the tow hual worked you would be able to tell that it was on by driving it. hope this helps.
