Default Newer TPM Sensors

Got new wheels from a 07 Yukon. They came with the new TPMS units.
Cannot get the newer TPMS units to be learned by the vehicle (2005 Tahoe).
Dealership could not either. Said I had to get Chevy ones........

Is this true, or is there a trick?

What method are you using to learn the TPMS sensors?
Are you using the Kent Moore gun?

I really did not see who made the unit they used.
Why do you ask?

I just wanted to make sure that someone wasn't trying to lear nthe new TPM sensors using the DIC in the vehicle.
If you are using a gun and none of them will learn then you have the wrong TPM sensors.

ZX,
you seem super knowledgeable. i have a 2007 Yukon XL 2500. stock wheels come with pressures sensors. I put snows on these and use them for winter trips. i put aftermarket wheels on and purchased the TPM valve stems from the dealer. But i can NEVER get the learning sequence to work when i switch from summer to winter wheels. I have to take it to the dealer every time and they say they have a hard time getting it to take. sometimes it will just loose communications with the sensorsand i get lines in the DIC. the dealer says theses systems are problematic. do you have an opinion on this? thank you for your help
