I have worked on vehicles for most of my 50 years. I have been to college and at one time was Design Engineer. I worked my way through school as fabricator/welder/machinist/mechanic/repairman. I also have worked as maintenance on high speed conveyors (electrical/mechanical/hydraulic). I really do not consider myself dumb at all (OK I own some Fords).

Am I the only one that thinks it is strange that they would pull all the wiring out of the floor, without knowing that was the problem. Last time I checked, I could put a meter at each end and check for breakage, short, etc.

Am I just imagining I used to do that?

The wiring has been pulled for over three weeks. I agree, with all of that pulled, they should be able to have a diagnosis! The dealership can't even tell GM the problem!

It's at a new car Chevrolet dealership. I was referring to the service technician manager. I'm sure he has done all that he knows to do but it is just frustrating to me because I took it there instead of a side mechanic thinking it would be fixed. I don't know what to do now. Instead of him admitting to GM that he doesn't know, he just keeps going and going and its been almost 5 weeks. I just want my car fixed! This is unheard of!

techs don't usually get paid hourly so if he's worked only on your truck for 4 weeks he ain't got no paycheck since the work ain't been done...

besides, at this point him being pissed should be the least of your concern, as you have been without your vehicle and without a reason for being without your vehicle for far FAR too long.

My car is at a new car Chevrolet dealership. If it was at a no name mechanic I would not be so upset because I would just assume it was because they didn't specialize in Chevrolet!
