Default No snow chain for the Tahoe!!

Hi from Spain
I'm a 2003 Tahoe 4WD LT owner.
Tire size are 260 70 R16
I would like to put snow chain on my Tahoe, but the owner's manual say that is not recomended.
Did you know why?
There is another system yo get more traccion on snow or icy roads ?
Thanks for help me
Ramon.

Default chains

most likely they will hit the brakes or body as they rotate.

have you looked into studded tires if your going to be in that much snow?
