when iput the truck in park, it rocks back about an inch(which doesnt bother me)but then i hear this click after i let my foot off the brake. i dont remember the other tahoes i test drove do this.

Mine does same thing. I've owned an 01, 03 and a 07 and all of them exhibited an amount of travel or "rock" after it's in park if on a slight slope. But in the 07, I find myself setting the parking brake after I put in Park more often because the amount of rock "is too much."

 

yeah, im always parked on a slope and makes the same click and rocks a good bit

 

It's normal, there is a small amount of play built into the park pawl (lock pin) to allow the shift lever to be moved without binding on slight inclines, you are just feeling this play.

 

It's always a good idea to set the parking brake so it holds the weight and not the park "pawl" but especially when on a incline or decline.
