I just don't get why all of these oil pressure sensors even need to have a screen. Back in the day, you dropped your oil and filter every 3000 miles or less under heavy duty service involving dust. You just chucked out the air fiiter the same and washed out the PCV valve and put it all back in.place. These newer vehicles are way over-complicated
to me. Must be my age catching up with me I suppose.

and if the oil filter fails?

The air intake usually has a screen after the filter too.

I just don't get why the engineers can't design so stuff like the oil pressure sensors are reasonably easy to access !!! I'd replace my own except for working blind down at rear of the 6.0 engine.

When my oldest daughter had a Mazda CX-7, was incredibly difficult to replace a headlight bulb, first the inner fender needed to come out, and then some weird clip arrangement. Why couldn't they just use a push and turn arrangement like on other halogen bulbs???

Only use Wix, Purolator, or ACDelco profession grade Oil filters. Frams are horrible filters unless you pay for the top teir ones. which I am told are okay. Royal Purlpe is also a great filter but pricey.. Napa Gold are made by Wix.

That’s all nice but I’d rather have a screen in case of that 1/10000 chance. It’s better than ruining a $5k engine.

I dont disagree with you MMJ. I just looked at the oil pressure sender screen and it much larger then I thought it would be. Defiantly need to be cleaned or replaced,.

I don't think there is one. Maybe if you disabled your stereo, but can't really help you with zero vehicle details.

I just replaced the oil pressure sender on my 2014 Yukon 6.2 liter 8 days ago, see https://chevroletforum.com/forum/tah...-issue-115193/

These senders go bad all the time (4 times on the 5 GM SUVs we've had).
