Default Outside mirror selector switch

Minor item just for you 2007+Tahoe owners'information.
The outside mirror selector switch has 3 settings.
1) Adjust left side(driver side) mirror (left light will come on)
2) Adjustright side (passenger side)mirror (right light will come on)
and 3) (maybe you did not know) Midpoint (both lights off) which disables the round arrow buttons. To set to "midpoint" you need to press the selector switch again on the side thatit's light is on.

I figured that out awhile back too. Once I selected a sideI couldn't figure out how to turn it off.I pressed the other side but then it lit up.Finally tried rehitting the selected side to "deselect" it.

Noticed same thing in my 07 Yukon, pushed hard in center of switch til got light to stay off, was worrying that light was staying on 24 hours. Haven't touched switch since. I'll have to try your way. Thanks. Wish owner's manual would tell us these things.

You are welcome.
The manual is written good. It gives most of essential information. However these trucks are featureful. I think the manual does not want to get owners bored reading it and thats why itmisses some smalldetails. This forum is a good place for details like this.

My two favorites are the auto flash (3) to pass (6 if in Tow mode) and the auto start where you just twist and release the key and it goes ahead and starts. Downside is when driving my wife's '04 and try it and it doesn't work that way.

Which reminds me... After activating auto flash if you change your mind, you can cancel it by slightly press the signal lever in the same direction again. Not in the manual.
