Default P0455

I got a check engine light on my 2007 Suburban 1500. I went to investigate and it is P0455. A little bit of Googling said to get a new gas cap. I got one and reset the code. It came back a day later. After some more investigation, I checked the EVAP Vapor Canister Purge Valve Solenoid, based on
. The solenoid is in the normally closed position, like it is supposed to be. I've crawled around underneath and looked for cracks, I couldn't find any. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a way to positively identify where the leak is coming from?

One other piece of information that I forgot to include earlier. Since the check engine light came on, every time that I fill up with gas the truck has trouble starting. It cranks ok (I put a new battery in a month or two ago) but doesn't start. I sit at the pump for about 5 minutes and then it starts up fine. I'm not sure if this is related, or just coincidental. But I thought I would include it just in case it helps to diagnose the culprit.

Thanks in advance,
Jon

The code is for a large leak. the most common fault for a p0455 is a stuck cannister vent valve. the fact that it has starting issues after filling...seems to point to a open purge valve. disconnect the purge hose at the throttle body and then try filling. if the problem is gone, replace the purge valve.

Ok, I did what you said. I disconnected the purge hose at the throttle body and filled it up. It started up like normal so I ordered a new purge valve. While I was in there, I noticed that one of the little tabs that connects the purge valve is broken. What is the hose called on the not-throttle body side of the valve?

Thanks,
Jonathan
