Default Problem with rear wiper

I have a 04 Z71 tahoe. My rear wiper stopped working. The old one was making a tapping sound. I bought one from a salvage yard. That made the same sound as the old one. Can someone give me some ideas? Thanks

Probably help others with a diagnosis if you tell us which parts you actually replaced and which ones are still left from the original setup.

Off the top of my head I would think something is stripped out, the tapping is probably the sound of gears missing teeth and slipping. or a gear slipping on the flat of a shaft
