Default Question for lowered tahoe owners..

Hey, I lowered my 07 tahoe with the McGhaughys 2/3 about 6 months ago. Around 2 months ago it started making a rubbing/cracking noise when I turn the wheels completely to either side. Its coming from the front end somewhere but I cant pin point it. Has anybody else had this issue? Thanks..

Do you have bigger rims? If so can it be the tires rubbing the inner plastic liner, just trim that a little.

Nobody else is having this issue? Im wondering if its because of the lowering or not? I just may take it in to the dealer. But Im sure they will blame it on the lowering kit.

can you duplicate the problem while its in the driveway? If so have someone get behind the wheel while trying to narrow down the noise. Does that kit use the control arms for the drop? Have you went back and re-tighten all the bolts? Have you lubed all of the joints lately.

Rs,
I lowered my 99’ two door Tahoe and although it’s a different suspension set all together, if your bushings are not all lubed up your truck will make creaking noises when the suspension is articulating even the slightest bit.

only DJM uses control arms to lower the front of the tahoes.so it cant be his kit. he either used spindels or coils.

2wd or 4wd? Spindles, or coils? Like others have said; everything lubed up good? Who did the install, and how long was the work warrantied for?

Kinda sounds like the ABS grind. Does the ABS or traction control light come on? My wife's does during slow parking lot manuvers while turning. I think it's because I put too much stress on the rear abs lines when I replaced the springs. It's been discussed before and apparently the wires are very fragile and break easily, which can cause this issue.
