i have a 99 tahoe and when i shut the engine off the radio stays on when you open the door it stays on.... the radio will not shut off i have had to revert to pulling the fuse to turn the stupid thing off please any help is appreciated thanks

 

Is your dome light coming on when you open the door? I haven't had it yet in a chevy, but in my BMW the door switch wasn't functioning properly, so the dome light wouldn't come on when I opened the door. In a vehicle with the auto-off feature, the door switch is what gives the feedback to shut off the accessories.

 

sounds like it is not the door if the radio will not shut off at all. even if you don't open the door the radio will turn off in ten min. does the radio stay on for rmore than 10 or 12 min. like dh1 said a good check is to see if the dome light switch is wroking.
