Rear Defrost Window Tabs
Does anyone know how the rear window defrost tabs are held onto the window on the '07 Tahoe? I was driving down the road today and something kept dangling in my rear view mirror. Come to find out...my rear window defrost post that the squiggly thing hooks onto has detached from the window. Is this something I can repair myself with a special type of sauter metal or should I let my dealer fix it?

Go tot he dealer and get the new window. After the warranty is out start repairing out of your own pocket. If your repair goes south the dealer may balk at warranty work.

RE: Rear Defrost Window Tabs
thanks for the responses...I think I will try the Permatex stuff. Seems easy enough. Probably easier than going to the stealership and having to explain how this wasn't my fault...plus I should have some left over to use when the other side falls off!!! Thanks again

Just had mine done at the dealer, they re-solderedit back on and it has held so far. If that doesn't work they have to replace the back window..

the best thing to use is silver solder u can get at electronics store (source) it's a high heat solder do not uselead or tinsolder it will not hold clean the tab and window with 500 grit sandpaper and alcohol. this is what gm recommends.

ok..thanks Mike...do you think this might hold longer than the Permatex stuff? Sounds like I'm not the only one this has happened to.
