Default Rear Defroster Wire Broken

During this past week I popped open the rear glass on my Suburban and since it was really cold, the coiled wire that runs power to the rear defrost wasn't very flexible. The wire connection pulled away from the glass on one side. I can see that there was some sort of glue holding it to the glass. I can re-glue it but my question is, what type of glue should I use for this since it has to conduct power through it?

Vehicle is a 07 Suburban LT.

There's another thread that answers this question w/ the tech bulletin on how to fix at the dealer's. If that isn't possible, try using the Permatex kit for repairing the grid wires on the glass. It is basically a highly conductive epoxy. I suspect it is heavily loaded w/ copper. No matter which way you go, be sure to stretch the coiled wires so they are slack when the glass is closed the way the new ones are.

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems this is a common problem with a lot of GM vehicles.
I found the Permatex kit at Oreilly Auto Parts for $10.49. The other thread has a more permanent fix, but I think I may try the kit first to see how it does.

I also found this recommended tech fix:

Repair Information for Reconnection of Rear Window Defroster Contact or Tab

Repair Suggestion
Electrically conductive epoxy repair kits have been successful in reattaching the electric defroster tab to the rear glass. Repair kits such as Kent Automotive P/N 57827-C and LOCTITE™/Permatex® product #21351, or equivalent, are commercially available. By following the manufacturer's recommended repair procedure specified on the kit and properly preparing the bonding surface, an effective repair may be achieved.

In addition to the strength of the bond, it is vital to strive for the best possible appearance. While it is unlikely that customers may refer to the appearance of the rear window defroster and its components as a positive styling feature of the vehicle interior, it is easy to elicit the opposite reaction due to a poor cosmetic application.

Conductaloy Epoxy can be ordered directly from Kent Automotive at 1-800-654-6333 (in Canada, 1-800-563-1717).
