Default Rear Door Window Trim

I know some Tahoes including mine had a problem early on with this rear window door trim (looks like a hockey stick) continually popping off. Mine still does it but i have not taken it to the dealer yet. Does anyone know if Chevy has made a new part to prevent this yet or will the dealer simply glue my trim back on? Thanks for any replies.

I just had both trims replaced. Dealer knew about it and most of them have it in stock.

The dealer will replace them with an updated part that does not pop off.

Do I need to request it? Was it a general recall?

I just took my tahoe in and told the service guy that it kept popping off at the ends. Being a smaller dealership they did have to order them. A couple days later they replaced them and havent had one pop loose since! They will warranty it!

They were installed incorrectly at the factory. There's a black tab that is supposed to hold the back on, not just the adhesive. The black tab was broken off.

Same here, had my tahoe for 2 days and one of the trim pieces popped off. When I called they said, as mentioned in this post, there was an error at the factory with the install and tab, they knew about it and told me they had to order only because they were out of stock. Too many replacements. When they came in had them replaced by the dealer no charge, now theyre on havent had the problem since....

Is it that they are loose, or that they fall off. Mine are loose, but they have the tab on there, so I am not sure if I need to waste the time of driving all the way to the dealer just to find out that mine are fine.
