Post (((rear pillar speakers)))

i own a 2000 gmc yukon (new body). my rear pillar speaker blew out awhile back. i had a pioneer premier installed and when i got it home i myself installed some more speakers in the rear pillars. recently they just stop working. im sure ive checked all fuses and have tried 3-4 sets of speakers but i now have no power going to either rear pillar speaker. i also removed the stock sub and the wires to it has no power. could the removal of the stock sub be the cause of the rear pillar spkrs not working? i did notice that when one side isnt hooked up the other side didnt work, but now nothing does. any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

i cant really remember, its been so long, but i think it was after the subwoofer was removed. ive tried hooking up a speaker in place of the sub while connecting two more in the pillars but still no luck. i believe its in the stock amp but have no clue where that is or how to fix it.

Some amps don't like to be on w/o speakers hooked to the outputs. They tend to blow. I thought most newer amps had protection but not sure.

wonder if the sub had a pre-amp of its own built in that may have drove the rear speakers?
