Recall
Is anyone aware of any recall in any of the steering linkage/components on a '05 tahoe? Mine drives/rides great but everytime i hit a bump or make a left-hand turn i get a "bumping" sound. It sounds like it may be coming from the steerling. I can also feel it in the steering wheel. Any ideas??? I'd love to get this figured out while I still have 6000 miles left in the factory warranty!!! Thanks folks.
I know my daughter's 03 Z71 Tahoe had a problem with the coupling on the steering and the dealer replaced it. Said it was a common problem. Don't know if it got fixed by the 05s. Would definitely let your service dept take a shot at it.
There is a TSB that addresses a steering clunk and the fix is to remove the steering intermediate shaft and grease it. Your dealer will be familiar with it.
