Default Replacing antenna base on 01 Tahoe

Anybody know whats involved in changing the antenna base on a 01 Tahoe Z71? About a week ago, the local car wash ripped the antenna of and in doing so, snapped the post off the base. I have the new antenna and base but I have no idea on how to replace it.

Any step by step instructions would be great.

BTW, I did a search but didn't find anything.

Thanks,

njracer

Welcome to the forum. Most antennas are held on by a nut on the inside which in your case is probably inside the fender. [] Not sure if you can access it from the engine compartment or possibly with the door open. Good luck. Someone can probably provide more and better info.

Same car wash problem as me. Found access to base through plastic panel on inner fender, under the hood. I have a 97, and they may have changed or eliminated access on your 01 but take a look. The new base was Dealer Only Purchase, yet very inexpensive. $18.99. They wanted $35 for the antenna.

Remove the black plastic cowl vent grill on the passenger side and then reove the 3 bolts that hold the antenna base assembly to the body.
