I'm looking into getting a Tahoe for My wife. We are currently looking at two. One is a 2004 4wd with 73,000 mi all the bells and whistles and the 5.3 (?) liter in it. The 2nd is a 2002 4wd Z71 4wd with 95,000 mi and all the bell and whistles. The 02 is cheaper, but does have more miles on it. My question is it worth the extra money and get the 04 or should I go with the 02? Also, how long do Tahoes last milage wise?

Welcome to the Tahoe forum. My wife has a '04 Tahoe that we bought used with about 25K and has about 35K now. She loves it and so far no problems. Did get an ext. warranty just in case tho.

If you're planning on keeping it for awhile, I'd go for the one with lesser miles.

I have owned more Chevys than anything elseand they all served me well. If you perform due diligence on your maintenance, Tahoes will last as long as anything else on the market.

Having said that, I agree with 73shark, get the '04.

 

The 2003+ Tahoes have a different interior style, especially in the dash, and it looks better. I'd also go with the 2004. My mom used to have a 2004 Z71 back in '03-'04and it was awesome!
