Hi all, has anyone ever tried Seafoam? It is self proclaimed wonder additive for crank case and fuel system. I have had my 1999 4x4 1500 with a 5.7 since 2002 and I have added various fuel system cleaners on a fairly regular schedule. To be honest I never saw any difference in mileage or the way it ran. In 2008 I put a new matching Goodwrench engine in the ride at 2004,000 miles. The new engine never got the kind of mileage the old one got. I used to bump up against 19 mpg quite regularly on the highway. The best I could do is 16.75 with the new engine and no matter what I did with the valve adjustment it sometimes did the clickity-clack under the rocker covers. Well recently I took a 2000 mile trip and I dumped 2 cans of Seafoam in the tank and one can in the freshly changed oil and let me tell you, the mileage is now 20-ish on the highway and no more clickity-clack under the rocker covers. Anyone else used this stuff?

I use it in all of my vehicles. In the fuel tank, sucked through a vacuum line, and in the crankcase.

Be careful about the crankcase, though. You're only supposed to use it in the crankcase right before an oil change, not after. When I'm ready for an oil change, I'll pour in a bottle, drive it 25-30 miles, then head straight to the quick-change place to drain it out. It's not supposed to be left in there.
