Default Side detection system.

I just got quoted $2500 by the local dealer for side detection modules and wire harnesses on my suburban. Do all need to be replaced or is it usually 1 or 2 that are bad? Can they just disconnect it? I can deal with the service warning to save 2500. I just feel that this dealership is a bit croaked when it comes to repairs.

without being there, seeing the vehicle and knowing the codes...it all speculation. the modules are expensive. I have seen corrosion intrusion into the modules and if it happens on one side the other side probably has it also. if you have fault codes for both sides its possible it needs both modules and the harness.

unless you know a fantastic programmer...it can't be deleted at the dealership level.

Corporate has to get there millions by marking up to fat cat levels.
