Dave,
I read elsewhere the Sub was 6 inch? Also, is the sub made by Bose? Thanks for the info, I have been wanting this info for a while!

Landon,
Good save, the sub is actually a 6.5" dual voice coil licensed Bose unit.

I'll correct it above to not further the confusion.

Dave,
Thanks for the info. The reason i wanted to know is because if it were an 8" sub i have one that I would install in the same enclosure! Thanks.

Dave,
A little more in depth question on your speaker info. Can you find out, or do you know the Ohm impedance of all the speakers included in the bose system?

Now my wire-cutters and screwdrivers are gettin' itchy.....

What's the power output of the Bose (nav) system?? I want to make sure that the speakers can handle the output.

2ohm for all the speakers except tweeters and rear door which are 4ohm.

Total power output is 230 watts @ 2ohm, even the cheapest of speakers will handle the power once you divide this small amount of power up and replace some of the 2ohm speakers with 4ohm.

Are the tweeters the only 4 ohm speakers in the vehicle?? Yikes!!

Now for a DFW -- why are the rear seat door speakers not Bose?? Just wondering.

Do you/anyone know where I can get harness adaptors for the speakers? I don't want to cut the plugs off if I can help it.

I'm sure any after market speaker will handle the power output. The question should be is the radio providing enough power to push after market speakers?

The rear door speakers are 4 ohm as well and are not Bose because they were able to attain an acceptable level of performance using a full range speaker in this location.

Crutchfield offers a speaker adaptor for GM plugs for about $9.99 a set or free with the purchase of a pair of speakers.

The amp has enough power to drive aftermarket 4ohm or 2ohm speakers so long as they are efficient and you have realistic expectations.
