Default Squeaking sound while in drive.

Hi everyone, perhaps you could help me solve this puzzle.

My Suburban has been making a squeaking sound recently. It's not a continuous squeak, but rather it seems to make the sound once per revolution of the wheels. So when going 5mph it is pretty slow (squeak_______squeak_______squeak_______), and when I get up to speed, it speeds up with the speed of the vehicle (squeak_squeak_squeak_squeak_). I hope that makes sense.

1) Only happens when in drive or reverse. If is switch to neutral, sound instantly goes away. Immediately returns when shifting into drive again.

2) Speed of squeaks are directly related to speed of the wheels. Does not correlate to RPM. (Like, when tranny shifts to 2nd, 3rd, etc... speed of squeaking doesn't drop with RPM).

3) Seems to disappear after about 10 minutes of driving. Sometimes longer, sometimes sooner. Generally every morning when I first crank it up it is VERY present.

So what could it be? Tranny? Wheel bearings/Hubs? Please let me know your thoughts or input!

John
