Default stuck in 4 wheel drive

I have a 2004 Suburban Z71 with pushbutton 4WD. I put in into 4 LO to climb a steep hill, and when I reached the top, it would not go back into 2 WD. It will go into 4 HI, 4 LO and 4WD/AUTO, but will not go back into 2 WD. I am running it in the auto 4WD for now. I have tried everything from backing up, rolling in neutral(forward & backwards), but nothing works. It may be an electrical problem. Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks.

Thanks, Maxxman, but that didn't work either. I think I have tried every possible combination, including what the owner's manual said. Do you have any experience with the switches, fuses, etc?
Thanks

on your buttons, is there a light on each one to indicate which one is selected? if so, does the 2wd flash at all when pushed?

Yes, there is a light , but it doesn't flash, come on or anything. I know what you mean, because I have a 1997 Suburban also, and the lights flash until it goes into gear.
Thanks

OK, Thanks, It will go into 4 HI, 4 LO and 4WD/AUTO. Would it do that if the transfer case shift motor went out?

that's kinda what i'm not sure of. the older electronic shift motors either work or they don't. not sure about newer ones. if you could find out which wire goes from the switch to the transfer case for 2wd, you might be able to jump a power wire to it and see if it'll engage 2wd. this might indicate a bad switch.
