tahoe brake light issues
96 Tahoe toy truck. Decided I would chop the top. After doing this my brake lights turn signals and everything worked fine for about a month. Being that it rained in the bed a few times I figured that could be my source of the problem.
The brake light's randomly stopped working. Fuse was fine, bulbs looked fine. I changed the brake light switch as a last option an they still didn't work. Just to amuse myself I swapped the bulbs around. The blinkers still work, but still no brake lights. Its obviously not the bulbs, switch, or fuse... any idea?

Were there any grounds in the roof that I could have overlooked when cutting the roof off? I did notice a huge bundle of black coated wires that got cut. Brakes worked fine for several weeks like that though.

Check at the sockets for the brake light circuit and see if you are getting the 12 volts. If you are then it is a ground problem. If you are not getting the 12 volts then it is a wiring problem. It might be easier to run a new wire from the brake switch to the lights.
