Default Towing an LTZ

Is there a switch to shut off the auto-ride on the LTZ when getting towed?

Can you tow it without it being shut off?

No switch that I am aware of. I would highly recommend using a flatbed. Good Luck

I don't need it towed, but I seen in a AAA towing manual that the 2007 tahoe/suburban needs to have the auto-ride shut off and there was a switch to do so. I never seen it in my GM manual hough.

I hope I am not in trouble, I tow my 07 LTZ behind my MH all the time and have not experienced a problem that I know of. I follow the directions in the manual which states to put the Transfer Case in Neutral, shift to Reverse then Drive, shut-off engine, shift to Park and remove the key. No where does it say anything aboutturning off the auto-level.

I suppose if you really wanted to disable the auto-level you could remove the fuse.

What is supposed to happen if you tow without diabling the auto-level????

I'M not sure what if anything will happen on the Chevy, but I know on any Lincoln if you leave the air-ride on and you tighen the suspension down when towing, the compressor will try and fill the air bags back up to level the car/truck resulting in all the air bags blowing. I know it's something like a $2,000.00 per bag repair on a Lincoln.

The Auto-Ride in the Chevy works the same way as the Lincoln trying to keep the tahoe/suburban level when towing a heavy trailer. Will it stay engaged with the key off?

I think you hit the nail on the head. I know on mine, the compressor doesn't level the truck after I hook/unhook my jetski trailer until after I start it up.
