Default Trans out of wife's burb, what models will swap?

Hello all, transmission in my wife's 4x2 05 suburban LT 5.3L just bit the dust. After calling local transmission repair shops and wanting $3,000.00 I think I want to buy a used transmission.

Can someone tell me what all makes/models/years will be a correct swap for her suburban.

Is it a 4L60E and are they all the same?

I need to know asap, this truck is used daily but I am not in a position to spend 3G on it right now.

Thanks to all for your help!

the wreckers will know.
you will have to change the tailhousing adaptor if the donor comes from a 4wd.
make sure you change the torque convertor, flush the trans lines, rad and trans cooler so you don't have a repeat failure.

I would also suggest looking for a re manufactured one, without more specifics Rock Auto has them listed for $1700.00 , its nearly plug and play...

Default Look here...

www.Car-Part.com
It's the same web site the wrecking yards use to find you a part if they don't have it. I've been using it for years.

I was real careful when I needed trans rebuilt for my Chevy truck. I removed it myself and found a good shop by talking to people I trusted. From what I saw on-line the big name shops should be avoided. They quoted $1400 and had it done in about 3 days. Perfect job and no regrets. I'm in southern Ohio.
