I actually just found a empty amsoil bottel laying around the shop from a toyota we flushed the other day, it does list DEX VI (6) on the back. I think the price would be almost the same as the DEX 6, however the truck is should be covered by the 100,000 mile powertrain warrenty (which includes the trans) if something happens to the trans and they find out it does not have DEX 6 they will not warrenty it. We have a BG syn trans fluid that is compatible with Dex 6 but BG tells use not to use it in GM under warrenty because they do not want to deal with the fall backs

wow 300 bucks i think i just might stick with dex 6 lolol. one more thing does the tranny coolant run through the radiator or a seperate cooler ? and down side to running a tranny cooler seperate from the radiator if thats where the fluid runs through ? i think it would help in keeping things running a bit cooler and last a bit longer ?

If the truck has a tow package it runs through the rad and a external cooler. If it does not have a tow package it will only run through the rad.

Has anyone here used the BG flush service that MDTahoe was talking about? I like to do most maintenance myself, but this might be something I leave up to the shop that I've taken my previous cars since they offer it.

Thanks

Sorry, one other question. when I looked up the filter part for my suburban at several retailers, there was a deep pan and also a shallow pan. It looks as if I have the deep pan, after looking under the vehicle, but how would I really know and what's the difference with the sizes?

Thanks!
