Transmission cooler

RE: Transmission cooler
If you have an external transmission cooler, you will be able to see it. Look at your radiator. In front of that is the condenser for the A/C. It's the same size as the radiator but thinner. A transmission cooler, if any, will usuallybe in front of the A/C condensor and about 1/4 of its size.
Generally, an external cooler is hooked up in series with the transmissionfluid cooler that's built into your radiator. On one side of your radiator, there will be some metal lines hooked up to it for the transmission fluid -- an inlet from the transmission and an outletback to it. When an external cooler is added, the outlet line from the radiator unit goes to the external cooler and then the outlet hose from the external cooler is hooked up the metal line back to the transmission. This allows the transmission fluid to get cooled first in the radiator unit and then further cooled by the external unit before it's returned to the transmission.
