Smile Transmission fluid fill level

Hello,
I just changed my transmission fuild on 2007 Yukon XL 4L80E transmission. I am having a hard time getting the proper fill level correct. I had to let some out because I overfilled. If the level is still about 3/8" above the top line on the dipstick when warmed to 140 degrees would that be an "overfill". I will be pulling a 5500 lb. camper trailer. Would that level of fluid be safe under that kind of pressure.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd say you'd be safer to suck some more out to get it down to the prescribed level.
