Default Transmission went BOOM!!!

I have a 2007 3LT 2WD with 31,000 miles on it and last weekend i was driving it at about 32-35 mph and all of a sudden i hear a loud POP and then the rear tires locked up for a second and then let loose, when i tried to accelerate i had no forward gears, reverse works but it make a ton of noise and locks up every rotation. I have never towed anything with it, its pretty much stock except for exhaust. I took it to the dealer and i am waiting for them to call me and tell me what happen. i will give an update as soon as i have one.
Has anyone had any transmission problems like this?

Welcome to the forum.

Keep us posted. Doesn't sound good but should be under the 5yr/100K warranty.

Thank you very much.

Update: The dealer called me today and said that the output shaft was what broke and that they are installing a new trans.

Update: #2 Well i picked my Tahoe up from the dealer with the new re manufactured transmission in it, The truck drives good but there is a big slip between 1-2. 2-3 feels ok. I guess i will have to put the BB TCM back in my truck ASAP. But all in all i am very satisfied with the service from my dealer.

You're easier to please than me must be. I would not have accepted a reman ona 31,000 mile truck.

+1

Also if this one doesn't have a good 1-2 shift, I'd be back for a new one.
