Video/Nav Override
Tahoe07,
Just saw this post as well. All I have is the 2007 GM/Chevy Navigation Head Unit for the dash. It is plug and play. However you will need to get the antenna, gmpartsdirect sells it for around $35. You will need a navigation disc, there are a lot of members that may have their old 1.1 version that will suffice as the 2.0 didnt have very many changes and ZX said it would mainly benefit the Eastearn areas.
So you will need nav disc for navigation, ebay or forum member. Antenna for around $35. Tech 2 programming by dealer should be around 30 minutes labor!
Price, I am not sure. I know I wont get what I paid. I would like to get a few offers to see what the going price is. However, I do have to sell it to keep my house under control. I know some posts on here have said that sites want over 2k for it. Some have said they got them off ebay for 1200-1600. Shoot me an offer! Thanks, Landon.

To enter addresses on the fly that's basically what the GM Lockpick does is to interrupt the Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS), but it uses an existing button and it has a smart feature that enables the VSS every few seconds to prevent the system from triggering a fault code.
To play a DVD the system uses multiple inputs to tell if the vehicle is moving, even if you were to bypass the transmission position signal the DVD would only play for a second or two once the vehicle started to move without a device like the Lockpick installed.

Just curious. Hope that made sense.

I have a GMLockPick 2nd Generation that is fully automatic installed on my 07' as of last week. I thought the second day I had the unit in, I was able to enter addresses into the Nav while it was moving. I say "I thought" because I can't remember if I did or didn't. Assuming I didn't see it working, would that be due to the fact that I don't have the VSS wire tapped into the C4 harness yet? I'm going to do that later on this week for the Voice Recognition.
Just curious. Hope that made sense.

I have the same deal here I just installed the lockpic on an 07 Tahoe, the second day after installation we started the Tahoe up and there was no Nav/DVD and things other things were acting up on the dash. After restarting the Tahoe everything was fine until I checked the Nav while driving and noticed that after unlocking it it would come on and off repeatedly. The DVD and XM scrolling seems to be fine, I'm still trying to figure out how the Onstar is suppose to work with a cell phone with the bluetooth built in. Any input would be helpful ....thanks...

Good to know that someone else is having problems and I'm not crazy. It's funny how both of us noticed it work right after the install then it goes away. The funny thing too is, I never hit any switches to make the nav and XM scroll. Their website makes it seem like you're still supposed to hit the window unlock button to do that. I'm under the impression that the only thing fully automatic is the DVD. The answer I was trying to get from ZX1100F1 is whether or not it matters if the VSS cable is connected. (I haven't done my tap into the green and white VSS cable yet.) Is yours connected ropnjessi? Knowing that will answer a lot of questions. If it needs to be connected, that will explain why my stuff isn't working, but it doesn't explain why it worked at least once and then stopped.
The thing that doesn't make sense to though is, if your XM is scrolling in theroy that means your nav functions should be working too. ZX1100F1 does that sound right? They should both be on the same "path" for lack of a better word.
I'm hoping that we can get to the bottom of this before having to contact CoastalTech directly.

Well the XM scrolling is not interrupted and will work after it is activated using the button on the door the nav is the only thing that will cut in and out, this is what I understood that you still need to activate the XM scrolling and Nav manually. The only thing that is automatic is the DVD. As far as my connections go everything is plug and play with only 3 wires left for any other accessories, IE: radar detector. How do you identify the VSS cable? I'm not sure that I would count on the two functions running on the same path. Have you looked into the Onstar cell bluetooth option? Thanks
Too much to type dude. You're going to have to do a search on the VSS (green and white wire). There are plenty of posts on this, and it's purpose. Again, it's just a lot to explain, and the info is already out there. I will ask you this though, as it can answer the question whether or not you have it already installed. Did you buy your truck with the factory navigation already in it? If the answer is yes, then your VSS is hooked up and installed, and you have nothing to search or worry about. If the answer is no, then search on my brotha'. (Let me know the answer though as it can help me to troubleshoot the problem.)
Bluetooth hands free via OnStar module, again you'll have to search on that as well, but my understanding is it's a module that plugs directly into the OnStar box. Once it's installed your Bluetooth enabled phone pairs up with it, and you're able to use your phone through the factory OnStar/stereo system. Just so you know it technically has NOTHING to do with your OnStar service. It's merely manipulating the OnStar module and allowing aftermarket Bluetooth handsfree kits to work through it.
For a guy like me it's useless as I don't like to lose my music to talk on the phone. Ha, ha. I usually only half pay attention to the people I'm talking to, as I'm listing to my sounds. LOL.
I'm still not understanding how one thing works and not the other with your GMLockPick unit. "Well the XM scrolling is not interrupted and will work after it is activated using the button on the door the nav is the only thing that will cut in and out, this is what I understood that you still need to activate the XM scrolling and Nav manually." Now when you say cut in and out, is this while you're at a constant speed you see it cutting in and out? If you notice it cutting in and out while coming to a stop and taking back off, that is normal.
I'm starting to wonder if both you and I have faulty units. Answer that question for me though on whether you bought your truck new, with the nav in it.
