After re-reading the installation instructions, I noticed something that might be affecting my situation. The first line of the install instructions state to turn on the vehicle and make sure the radio is off, then procede to hook the harness up. I did not take this step I simply installed it with the Tahoe ignition off. This could be the difference, once again this morning when starting the Tahoe up for the first of the day the nav system was blank, once restarted within a minute or so everything was online. I agree with TMW597 the product seems to be ok just a couple of kinks in possibly the install. We'll see this weekend I'll pull it out and follow those instructions to a "T'.
Hey, it can't hurt to try right!!?? I'm doubtful it will change anything, but will be happy for you if it does. Keep us posted.
Well re-installed the lockpic as per instructions and there was no change, everything was the same as decribed in the post above. Something I didn't notice before was the XM scrolling also was cutting in and out the same as the NAV, I thought it was just the NAV alone doing this. Called Coastal Electronics 7:26 PST today 01-02-07 we'll see if I get any support. TWM597 I noticed on the home page of Coastaletech about the new features of GEN 2 and I saw the one part that addresses the Onstar "ONSTAR phone dial unblock" a tad more info but none the less very limited as far as what or how this feature is used.

The XM and NAV will cut on and off (scrolling feature/NAV entry). This is designed in the lockpick so as to trick the system into as nothing is wrong and no error codes sent. Hope this helps.

Well I spoke to coastal today and they are sending me a replacement lockpick unit. I don't believe this is the problem but I will play along. Hopefully this will fix the issues. To be continued.......

Well I talked to Coastatetech (via phone) about what was going on with the situation listed above, and apparently the cutting in and out is the NAV system updating, and when you switch over to the XM right away from the NAV screen the XM will do the same. This is normal. They said that any emails people send to them for support to double check the address, apparently some are going to the wrong place. As far as the Onstar unlocking goes the vehicle has to have bluetooth installed already, the only one to date is the Escalade.

Jritchey,

So your traction control stopped working after you install of the gen 2? My traction control just went out two days ago, it went away after a fewminutes of the car being off, still have check engine light. I was assured that it was a common problem, and is fixed by a software reflash. But now I'm questioning the lockpick is the culprit, since it happened to you as well. Did they mention if the gen 2 may affect your traction control somehow? What exactly happened when it went out, did your traction control symbol turn on, and did the driver info center flash the message, "service stabilitrak"? Thanks.

Trod
I was sitting still in a parking lot with my foot on the brake and the warning flash on the dash and the traction control turned off. But after reading several other threads on this forum it sounds as though their are many other people having traction control warning problems. But one thing is for sure I have not had a problem since I removed the lock pick. But I can't say if they are related or not.
