Default Water leak in cargo area-2008 Tahoe

I have noticed, the last few times it has rained here, that I have had wet carpet and cargo, in the very rear-passenger side-of the rear cargo area. It almost looks like the water in entering the area through the "grill" area just below the electrical outlet plug?

Anyone else had that problem? Possible fix-something stopped up? What is in that area of the Tahoe?

I will take it back to the dealer, but really curious as to what is going on.

Thanks in advance for any information and responses.

I thought I read this somewhere else, when you park nose down? ie slanted forward? I'm so afraid to spend my $ on a new truck, my 1995 works fine :-/

do you have he rear A/C ? may need to check the drain on it if you do

how about a roof rack? check and make sure the mounting screws are tight

Default Update?

We have a 2007 tahoe and just noticed a leak in the exact same place on the side grill like area of the rear passenger side in the cargo area. Has anyone figured out where this is coming from?
Thanks!

Check the boot for the wiring harness directly below the center brake light when the door is opened. Our boot has fallen off and leaked water in. Actually, it just popped off a few weeks ago again. PITA to fix! Still need to do it.

We will check that. We do have a sunroof. When i moved the vehilce to the other side of the driveway that had a slight angle towards the drivers side, the passenger door had a 1/4 gallon of water come out of it.

Thanks for the responses!

not sure where you leak is but the sunroof drain tubes can come off and water will migrate down and back.

Default Leak in cargo are, doors, and sunroof...

Its funny I finally ran across someone with the same problem. I thought it was just my truck. I have an 07 tahoe z71. I noticed durring heavy rain I would get water dripping through the grill in the right rear as well. Also when I go through a carwash I can hear water dripping past the sunroof seal. Its annoying. Not sure if its all from the same cause but it would be awesome to figure it out before I just go tear the entire headline out and all the plastics. Ive also had both rear doors fill up with watee. Drove me nuts for a couple days knowing I didnt have any bottles of liquid in the truck, I opened the rear doors and heard he slosh and they were sooooo heavy.. I drilled 3 holes in each door 😂
