Got a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 with the 5.3 Vortec engine.
I got now 160k miles on it. This weekend I ahd the first trouble after 60k miles I drove it: blown head gasket

It's that bad that all water channels are plugged - even had low oil pressure through that plugged shxx.
Took the first cylinder off today and it doesn't look that good atm! Even got lots of water on two cylinders. Two valves even want to get replaced cause the valve seats look damned burned and leaky! So time to rebuild it

The headers screws are worse too... so I thought about replacing them to get a nicer sound if I got them off once...

I'm just not sure which one to take.
Bought already a Magnaflow exhaust a few years ago and was happy with the sound. Even more since my one catalyzer got burned throught

But now, where I got everything removed, I thought it'S getting time for something new. Read already about long and short headers and about mufflers with catback.
Which headers and muffler/s would you advice me to buy? I want a bad muscle car sound with an acceptable sound for people sitting in the third row. If I get some more power too, would be nice but is not a must.
The pipe I want to build myself. Thought about installing two pipes at the tail. Anything important for building that pipe like Y-pieces or similar I have to take?
