Bought my '03 Tahoe used. It came with a gm accessory anti-theft device that even dealer around here has ever seen. There is a black plastic gadget about 3 inches square, mounted on the dash by the left knee, and you have to wave a fob on the keyring in front of it and get two chirps to enable the ignition. It's now on the fritz, and I don't even know what the thing is called. Afraid I'm soon to be stranded due to this stupid thing. Anyone know anything about it?

Trace the wire back to where they were spliced in disconnect them and solder the original wire back together.
