Default Wheel offset question

Looking to get 20x9 wheels and a tire size of 275/55/20. The wheels have a +10 offset. what will that do to my stance? Will it stick out more than the stocks and if so by how much?

That tells me what offset is. I know what it is but I don't know how it will look. I was hoping that someone has been in a similar situation and could pitch in with some experience in the same boat.

Default look

Don't know that one. Here in PA I love the tires stick out look, but it won't pass inspection

Greetings Cole, welcome to the Forum.

You've made the correct rim width selection for that 275, 9" is best.

Making the determination about offset is quite difficult. Most times, I say to make a style choice, THEN, make the manufacturer give you the Rim, that is appropriate for your ride. That puts the burden on them, to guarantee that the tires won't rub. Make sure when that selection is made, that they understand they are responsible for a proper fitment.

Probably the same reason that the big rigs have to have mud flaps, I think. Helps prevent throwing trash up on the people behind you.

If you have tires that stick out past the fender, may states require fender flares be installed... as I too understand it as a safety issue with wash and debris throw-out...
