Ahhh I see why you got that shark, don't click on the sps info tab, just stay on the main TIS page and enter your VIN in the first box

That's what I did but I either entered the VIN wrong or it didn't like lower case. Works now. Thanks.

well guess what!!!
I unplugged the battery last night for about 5 min, and when I plugged it back the radio worked just fine!!! I guess the system needed to be reset or something
one thing I noticed is that no one with this problem has posted what they did to fix the problem in their vehicle
I'm still going to get the battery rundown software upgrade that shark mentioned, and look up my vin # in that website that in2pro posted and see what comes out of it
so thank you guys for your help and now on to the next project!!!

The only thing we're lacking is the Microsoft automatic updates and the BSOD.

I am having problems similar to what Quetranpa was having. I installed my GM nav myself in my 08 Silverado and its worked great for about a month until recently. A few days ago I turned my truck on and it boots up fine, but it goes straight into "Off" mode, blue screen with clock in middle, and is frozen there. None of the buttons work. I pulled the fuse for a few minutes and put it back in and that worked so I was happy. A few days after that it happened again so I pulled the fuse once again, let it sit, then put it back in and it turned on blank again. I hit the eject button to eject my mp3 cd and it spit the cd out and then turned right on. This morning once again it turns on frozen. I do the fuse and nothing happens, try to eject the cd and nothing happens, pulled the fuse again and left it out for my 1hr commute to work and still nothing. I am now at a loss. Any suggestions?

Did you purchase the system from the dealer? Have you considered a faulty unit?

I would recommend taking it in for an inspection.

Keep us posted.

I bought it from a friend of a friend and the guy that I bought it from works at a dealership so he was able to install and unlock it for me. About a month and a half later is when I started having problems. I took my truck into the dealership yesterday and they pulled my CD out and tried to reprogram it but still came up frozen. They told me that the unit is supposed to go in a 2010-2012 vehicle which is why it may be freezing up. I'm almost positive that that is irrelevant, but whatever the issue is I took it out last night and put the factory radio back in
