Default Will Suburban 3rd Row Seats fit into a Tahoe?

Hi All,

I just picked up a N.O.S. seat from a 2003-2006 Suburban for very short money. The plan is to install it into my 2000 (new style) Tahoe that was purchased without the third row option.

I know that I will need to obtain a striker kit, but since this seat is a bench style, it will have a different bracket configuration. Has anyone done or seen this install?

I am including a photo (found on the internet) of the seat I bought. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

I'm guessing that you'd have to do a lot of cutting and welding in the floorpan. Probably best to go to a salvage yard and see if you can cut all the needed hardware out of one.

Here is a link to another forum where a guy installed the third row in a Tahoe that did not come with the third row.

http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...nbs-tahoe.html

He says that the suburban seats will NOT fit in a Tahoe.

2. 3rd row seat from an NBS TAHOE. Suburban will not fit. they are the same width, but the mounting points are in different spots. The back lines up with the stock brackets, but not the front. I bought mine from craigslist for $175..and they are the split kind but still are a 3 seater.

The reason they won't fit the Tahoe is not valid for 2000 Tahoe since he has no mounting features. I agree that they won't fit a Tahoe equipped from the factory w/ a third row seat.

Thank you very much for the link. It's too bad, because the seats are new, they fit perfectly inside of my vehicle, but the bracket design is different. Instead of welding, I may just put these for sale and try again.

I had my 2007 Tahoe LTZ broken into last weekend. They stole my third row seats. Auto repair shop replaced them, but I think they are wider than my previous seats. Do you think they replaced them with Suburban seats? Are suburban seats wider then Tahoe ones? The brackets are same size. Maybe this is just my imagination. Please confirm.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure about the width but the Tahoe seats are snug. Check w/ your dealer parts dept. They can tell if the same seat fits both. Or check the "catalog" section on gmpartsdirect.com.
