Default Which Year to buy

I want to buy a tahoe, 1996-99. Which year is the best, with reliability and maintenance cost the largest consideration. Thanks for your help!

i would also consider a 1995 if its better, i would prefer the better fuel economy of the newer engines though.

You're looking to buy a truck that's at least 15 years old, and you're worried about reliability and maintenance? By the time a truck has reached this age, the way it's been treated/serviced by previous owners will have much more influence than minor design differences between the model years. Do your research, search online, and find that diamond in the rough. I was searching for 4 months before I finally found "the one."
