Default Z71 or LTZ?

Now that I know that either will fit in the garage... can you guys give me the pros and cons of the Z71 over the LTZ. About the only thing I noticed was the fog light change, wheel flares, and better running boards. Is there anything that I should know before I "pull the trigger?" I was leaning toward the LTZ because I personally am not a fan of the flared out fenders. Thanks in advance.

personally i don't like that polished look on the door handles an mirrors on the z71.and whats the deal with the front bumper that center piece is just wrong, also the step tubes are ugly, and all the z71 I've seen have very blah interior (instead of wood it grey plastic)
BUT THAT JUST MY OPINION

Not a fan of the Z71 look. I love the LTZ w/ Chrome, best looking truck I ever owned.

I willpost some pics of my LTZ. Too much going on with the Z71. You can always add the fender flares as oppose to removing them after the fact.

I really like the Z71 interior...so much so that I just had it installed in my LT3--its brushed aluminum, not plastic..and I think it looks better than the plastic woodgrain.
I like the 2 tone seats of the Z71 as well....my love for these two features, was not enough to get overthe exterior styling, just couldnt handle the wheel flares, tubes, and front bumper...

I love the grille on the LTZ, but didnt like the chrome mirrors or handles...I think the body color mirrors and handles looked best...

I basically bought an LT3, added every option, then added the dash...
Got all of the features I wanted so Im happy...

to each his own...
good luck on your purchase.

Agree with ironcy... I have a loaded Z71 and I look at the front bumper and wonder why it's two tone. One of these days, I may paint it.
Not a fan of the faux wood grain, butreally likethe brushed aluminum.
The two tone interior I personally like, but I can understand why some don't.
The brushed aluminum accents I also like, but if you like shiny objects, the chrome is perty....

it all comes down to your personal preferences. sounds like jeff is anit-off road style. he preferes polished chrome and plastic wood over satin chrome and brushed aluminum. ironcy got the best of both worlds... LTZ exterior and Z71 interior.
me... the Z71 two-wheel drive package gives me a non-4x4 drive, but upgraded suspension for a better ride after i drop it. i like the body styling and interior trim. but like 4cdndctn, the front bumper strikes me sideways and i plan on doing something about it.
whatever you decide on, get it cuz YOU like it. otherwise that monthly car note will seem extra heavy.

like other here have said, its really a matter of personal preference. One other thing is the LTZ comes with autoride, I not sure but I dont think the Z71 does. The autoride is margianlly smoother from what others here have posted, but if you tow autoride is the way to go (Air Suspension).

Not sure about the rear flares but the fronts wouldn't blend in with the front bumper on a non-Z71. But Bushwhacker does sell some that do.

I the didn't mind the front bumper or the tubes on the Z71 and the two tone seats and brushed aluminum dash pieces are fantastic. I could not get by the horifying fender flares. I went to the dealer twice to look at them hoping I could get used the flares but I just could not. We discussed removing the flares but it would difficult and the bumpers are slighty different on the Z71 so it wouldn't be flush. I picked up a loaded LT3 and now am adding a grill, chrome door handles, mirrors etc. similar to what Ironcy did. It will end up looking better I think but it's just a pain to add all of this.
