Default 2001 suburban power seat issues

Hi all, I am new to this forum, so if there is a thread associated with the issue I am having, please forgive and point me to that thread.

The issue I am having is with the driver's side power seat, it is not functioning at all. The passenger side power seat is working, however (I believe both use the same circuit/fuse, correct?). I bought a new switch for the power seat, and that did not fix the problem. Any suggestions on how to diagnose what is wrong would be most appreciated. I am told that there are 2 motors, one for the seat bottom, and another for the seat back. Since neither works, I suspect that it isn't a motor problem.

Thanks in advance for any help with this!!

I have diagnosed this problem a bit further. I was able to "hotwire" the seat motor via a direct connection from the battery, and move the seat back and forth. So the problem definitely does not lie with the motor. I am now assuming that the problem is associated with the seat control box, which is a small plastic box underneath the drivers seat with a circuit card inside.

Does anyone have experience with a bad power seat control module/box?

I would unplug the seat harness and see if it's getting any power.
