2002 Tahoe cruise control issue
Hello All
For more than 15 years I drive a Tahoe 2002 V8 LT.
Since 2 months , when driving it on the highway , after +/- 10 miles , it starts behaving verry strange,
- The cruise control turns off and I must go an "manual" gas throtle
- The ABS warning indicator lights on
- The the warning indicator "hand brake" turns on
When I continue driving in cruise controle OFF mode , the car runs OK , but the warning indicators stay on.
My mechanic replaced the speed control sensor on the gearbox , but the problem keeps appearing.
Any sugestions in fixing this problem.
Thanks - Louis van Kerkoff The Netherlands

Last year I had a similar issue with the cruise control my 240xxx mile 2004 Suburban — but without the ABS and hand brake dash lights. My CC just stopped working. Completely. Apparently, this is not an uncommon scenario with GM vehicles of that generation.
My problem was caused by a faulty brake control switch, which makes sense when you remember that under normal operating conditions, the CC will disengage when the brake pedal is depressed. Thus, the circuits must be linked.
I crawled under the dash and replaced the switch myself, which resolved my CC problem; it will probably address yours...hopefully, to include your warning lights.
RockAuto and other online suppliers sell replacement switches, just be sure to purchase the one that correctly matches your Tahoe's model year and options (mine has GM RPO JF4 PEDALS ADJUSTABLE, POWER)

Online instructional videos abound, as well. Here is one example:
