Default 2004 suburban stalling

I have a 2004 suburban with the 5.3 liter flex fuel engine that is stalling. i have read several other threads that are similar but none sound like my problem when mine dies it does not cough sputter lose power or drop in power. it simply shut off.i can hear the fuel pump the whole time it stay running for a bout two seconds after the engine shuts off. replaced fuel filter anyways.borrowed a code reader pulled a crankshaft position sensor and o2 sensor replaced both no more code still same shut off problem. checked codes again now camshaft sensor code. i dont want to spend a bunch of money replacing every sensor that throws a code is there some thing mechanical that i am missing? oh and it will shut off at will temp distance driven idle or higher rpm dont seem to matter. would any of these sensors even cause the engine to shut off?

Welcome to the forum.

Remember that the DTC doesn't necessarily tell you what component is at fault. The factory service manual lists extensive troubleshooting charts for each DTC.

Yea I don't have the factory manual. Not sure what I did that fixed it but i have been driving it every day now for almost a month and it has not done it again. Did replace the fuel pump relay just cause it seemed like it got really hot. But didn't fix it right away went out next morning and started it and like i said no problems.

Hello. what is the best way to clean used o2 sensor's on my 1996 suburban until new sensor's are purchaced? Will That work? I heard from a mobile machanic that "sea foam" would do the trick if sucked into a small valcum port to detox the engine...

As far as I could ever tell it was the relay for the fuel.pump. I switched it with the one for the daytime running lights. They worked on and off for about two days. Like I said it didn't fix it immediately. When I switched it nothing changed. Woke up the next morning it fired up. I didn't have the problem again. I had it for another 5 years and it ran when I sold it.

Thank you for the reply. Last night I ordered a new relay and ignition switch from Amazon after seeing your post and someone else that had a similar issue. I am hoping I get lucky and it is one of these things that is the issue. I am leaving it with the mechanic until Thursday and if they cant fix it I will go forward with these changes. If they find the issue I can just return the parts or keep them as a just in case.

thanks again for the reply and glad you got through the problem.
